In regional news, 45 year old Dina Jackson of Middlebury Center has been charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment, intimidation of a witness or victims, endangering the welfare of children and possession of instruments of crime in connection to an incident taking place early Wednesday morning at a residence along Route 287 in Middlebury Township. Mansfield-based state police claim Jackson stabbed 35 year old Chad Orvek in the left rear during an argument over marijuana in front of a five year old girl. They also assert Jacksons threatened an adult female witness if she told the truth of the incident to police. Orvek was taken by private vehicle to Soldiers and Sailors Hospital in Wellsboro and then, because of the extent of his injuries, was flown by heliocopter to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre.
